I currently work within the Centre for Health Inequalities Research at Lancaster University and my main research interests are in adolescence, gender, sexualities and sexual health. Prior to coming to the University in 2012, I spent the previous 25 years in a range of community and public health roles specifically in HIV prevention, sexual health, sex education and teenage pregnancy. From 2001 – 2010 I was involved in the development and co-ordination of the Teenage Pregnancy Strategy at local, regional and national levels.
